Mexico, 1868, 12 c Hidalgo with Period after Numeral and "TAMPICO 39 71" district overprint, tied by "FRANCO TAMPICO" oval postmark in MIXED FRANKING with Great Britain, 1865, 4d plate 12 tied by "C63" and "TAMPICO AU 27 1871" datestamp alongside on folded entire letter send to Vera Cruz. An extremely fine and attractive combination franking with GB used Abroad.
A similar mixed frankings but less attractive sold for 5750 USD (including the auctions fees) in the sale of the Salomon Rosenthall collection (see lot 653)
